Oh the technology!
A connection issue prevented the live streaming of the footage from the ULB this weekend. We are very sorry for this inconvenience. The teams are eager to find a solution as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, here are some sequences that illustrate a somewhat special Easter weekend of the Peregrine Falcons at the ULB site.
Video 1. Sunday 04/04/2021. The male arrives to relay his female who had been incubating the eggs all night long. Nothing to report in particular. On video 2, after having been relayed by the female himself, he returns, but this time carrying a prey: a female Chaffinch.
The following 3 videos are from Monday 05/04/2021. Look after your eyes! The wind picks up over Brussels, while the male Peregrine Falcon is tranquilly brooding on video 3. A few minutes later, the sky is unleashed, it is snowing heavily! We can see, on the left of the image, the tips of the father’s wings. He's not moving! Watch it on video 4. When the weather elements calm down, the female returns to the nest, her paws in the snow! The male was just waiting for this, and immediately jumps into the void as shown in Video 5.
